| Description | TV Storm asked us to check auto Reset function. During Auto Reset there is no video signal to TV. But now after reboot TV shows Btv Logo. Please check it and fix it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Document from TV Storm (SKB_ATV_Development_Guide_for_Foxconn_20190115_v1.0.pptx) Page 4 Auto Reset Guide - Ability to cold boot the STB without knowing the user in a specific situation (decided by App) - The TV screen should not come out from the bootloader, the TV should not be turned on by CEC control. STB must be in standby mode when booting is completed. - Operation 1. App issues the reboot command “system_reset” command is inserted in reboot command as below reboot system_reset 2. The Boot loader from manufacturer checks “system_reset” If it is confirmed to be an auto reset, do not display the TV screen from the bootloader. => Currently TV shows Btv Logo. It should be no video signal during boot by system_reset. Set "sys.skb.auto_reset" to true in the System property when amlogic driver is loading. => It works well. 3. Middleware checks sys.skb.auto_reset to disable cec. 4. UI App checks sys.skb.auto_reset property to switch STB to standby mode, and initializes sys.skb.auto_reset value | ||||

I test it with "reboot system_reset" command. What my scenario is as follows : 1. Power off (Go to Standby, Green LED On - OK) 2. Input "reboot system_reset" 3. STB reboots with HDMI output with Black screen, but we need no HDMI output.(Issue) If there is no HDMI Output, then TV show some message, like "no signal". During Reboot STB turn on White LED and start blink.(OK) 4. After boot, LED turn green LED on.(OK) 5. Press power on button after boot process, then TV turn on and show Home menu. But there is no TV screen. TV keeps black screen.(issue) HDMI should be off instead of black screen. |

Hi Mr. Yoon, Please check Mantis 0000567 and AML and TVS will do modification for active standby mode which SKB defined. Once the modification is finished, I think this issue will be closed as well. |

Hi, Jacky, We checked it with current SW version(r7). After auto reset, STB is stop or waiting for HDMI related command during the boot. So booting time is too long. And after Green LED on, I press power button of RCU, then LED changed to white, but No video. I plug out and in of HDMI, then we can see android logo and show home menu. TV S think that it may have problem on HDMI initialize during boot. Mr. Jason know about it. Could you check it ? |

Hi Mr.Yoon , The fix of the issue has been added to 4/15 FW release ( V15.502.12 ). We find two issues in V15.502.12. You can refer to the attached file for this issue. The name of file is reboot_sys_reset_flow.pptx. Issue 1: We find the library "tvcontextmanager/libtvs_jnisystem.so " to enable HDMI output by setDisplayResolution() function. Issue 2: Press power on button after boot process, then TV turn on and show Home menu. But there is no TV screen. TV keeps black screen. --> If the Issue 1 is solved , please help to confirm issue 2. |

We received feedback from TVS today. Their test result is fail due to following issue. 1. STB show screen shortly between reboot and Standby Expected : Standby - system_reset - Stnadby (NO TV Screen) Test Result : Standby - system_reset - Show TV Screen(some advertisement) - Standby(No TV Screen) 2. Rebooting time is too long(sometimes) Please see the log. It takes about 1 min. from the start to time to print "boot_completed" Normally it takes 1 40 seconds. The time when Home UI is created is 47 sec. So it looks some trouble during Android boot. And there are some messages during 46 seconds as follows. 04-16 16:17:24.260 E 3000 3053 MesonHwc: wait for vsync fail Please check it and fix it. |

AMLOGIC told us that it is checking with Foxconn. There are 2 issue. 1. During the boot, TV shows it screen about 2 sec. It should not show. 2. It takes too long for boot. Please let us know it's status. |

AMLOGIC has provided patches for us, but it still does not fix these 2 issues. |

Hi Yoon, We got Amlogic' patches for these two issues. We will include these two fixes in V15.502.17. Issue1: The root cause is HDMI is enabled again at booting up, It is fixed by making sure to properly disable HDMI Phy when doing auto reset. Issue2: The root cause is system server is waiting for initialization of random driver. We enable Hardware random number generator to make sure random driver can initialized earlier at kernel boot up and will not block system server initialization. |

Hi Yoon, I tested AML patch and it will be included in V15.502.17. The booting time form first line of logcat message to boot complete: Auto reset without patch: about 60 seconds (Some TV may even be 3 minutes) Auto reset with patch: about 22~26 seconds Normal boot without patch: about 31~37 seconds |

Hi Yoon, The extra issue (issue 3 below) in Jira https://jira.skbroadband.com/browse/BFS-118 is also fixed in V15.502.20. 1.Show TV Screen during boot for 1 ~ 2 sec. (Fixed in V15.502.17) 2.Long Booting time. (Fixed in V15.502.17) 3.TV did not show TV Screen when press Power button after reboot. But if I reconnect the HDMI cable, then it show. (Fixed in V15.502.20) The root cause of issue 3 is that the standby/resume vednor APIs are not well implemented, so system sometimes can not receive HDMI hotplug event to redo HDMI configuration. |
